Got water in the cab again.

There was a bit of vibration after getting out of the pond, maybe the weed on the drive shaft was the cause!

I was a first time marshal at Round 1 of the Mainland Winch Chlallenge. Had a great time, awesome to watch teams tackle similar problems in very different ways!

Unfortunate to see some very broken trucks. Who knew Wrangler front top arms were so spindly?

Will have to get some pics of the camera card...

Drove to Wellington, came home with one less lung  Virgin winchman at the Kiwi Challenge. Had a great road trip and comp with Monstr, Jeremy and Co. Great to meet a few off ORE...
Managed to turn a Prado radius arm into a pretzel... But it was squashed flat with a trucks outrigger arms and we put it back in and finished the event only dropping a few tracks....Time to clean up and recover...

Jeeps did Pureora for 3 Days.
For the first day of winter, the weather was verging on pleasant... :)

It is a little bit slippery in there, but we all got out with nearly no damage...

I trailered the tires for the first time.

got money during the week for selling the bighorn, so finally got enough funds to carry on with the terrano.

Couple of little things, got new flares sorted, that will also be mudflaps (yay for cert requirements) and then i have to book her in for a warrent, every thing looks sound so cant see why it would fail other than the cert needed.

Also got a part time job finally, so going to be getting some good things for the terrano eventually, like some longer shocks and/or softer springs so i can unleash the flex in the front.

So all going well i will finally be able to get some action in the terrano, perfect timing for winter!!

found out on friday morning our 3rd truck that was coming from auckland couldn't make it  , was told of the huge effort Mike put in trying to get things to work, but things didn't quite go his way.
Got a last minit ring in on friday, Mitch in a nissan, So headed down to rallywoods! :D

The ring in was the only truck going properly at the end of the weekend, mine out with electrical problems and jafa only having 3wd (broken left rear axle) all weekend, then did a kingpin bearing on last stage!

Ingrid enjoyed her marshalling, even if she made the exaust fall off my work truck!!

Wicked event, will be back again next year!

Drove back to palmy sun night, then up at 5am monday to get back down to naenae for kids canoe polo event!!

I though that tired old landrover was sounding better by the end of the weekend :-D

Why you not just stay another night and head to naenae next morning :-/

Headed to Pureora with Pruggerdore. Had a great weekend. Here's a pic of Clive's truck showing that leaf springs do indeed "flex" :-)

Thought about it, but Ingrid wanted to go home, and bed at home more comfortable! :)

...and didn't want to leave truck on trailer parked outside pool for 4 hours!

Absolutely destroyed my winch, yay only had it for 6 months.

I was up at our clubs winch challenge on Saturday, just as a spectator and just driving around to the different tracks to watch the competitions. Parked the truck up on the side of the road, we all got out and left it for 5mins and then we could hear this almighty continuous crunching sound.

Turns out the winch had decided to start running and I had to disconnect the battery feed to stop it. I checked the wireless remote and it wasn’t even powered on and just sitting in the glove box. There are no external remotes connected to it either. But shit did it make a mess.

Just got to work out what happened now:
- the solenoid jammed on.
- The remote receiver got some water in it and switched the winch on
- Or maybe with the winch challenge on, someone else’s remote activated my winch??

That would be an interesting theory to test... Could be fun even out with other mates with the same winch!
