Project Zuki

Post by williamhamilton »

I thought I would post a few pics and get some feedback/guidance on where things are at and heading. It still surprises me how light Vitaras are (I come here as a FJ40 fan/owner).

Here we go.. Grabbed a nice wee white Vitara as I needed a couple of extra seats for the family to come out with me. Stripped the front off and found very little holding the bumper on.. this trend continued :)
Image

Front bar added, made from scraps around the workshop - top hoop and spots, antenna to come. Winch wiring extended to fit in the engine bay, remote wiring for cab switch almost complete.
Image

High capacity, small size sourced from one of our suppliers and installed - the things is bloody good! rated at 750CCA and fits in a wee zuki. tested at well over rated capacity too.
Image

Ironman suspension added all round - stance much improved.

Lovely Maxxis trepadors now of to replace the getting close to slick road tyres.
Image

Rear off and working on a plan of attack for bar work. Suggestions welcome. Recovery hook locations seem to be limited so thought required there too. Side rails in the plans but a fair way off at this stage.

I happily pay more at my local Gasoline Alley as they know my vehicle turning the pump on when I drive up to it and don't make me give me my left kidney in order to get the pump turned on

Considering a snorkel but I doubt I will be wading through too many rivers with the little beast.
