will be the wrong voltage on the tacho, anything electrical in nelson do a converter, otherwise can you find a petrol dash to swop it over?

don't think the voltage is an issue as the truck is all 12 volts as is the v8 ignition.
and wont I stil have the same issue if I put in a petrol dash as they are all 4cylinders and the chev is 8 cyl, think my tacho reading will still be out by double as itl be getting 8 pulses not 4 pulses...

as long as you fit the petrol dash (4cyl or 6cyl), just fit a pulse converter. i think there is even a jaycar kit.

Efi gauge clusters operate on a low voltage input signal. Older ignition systems like a coil dizzy setup output a higher voltage so a converter is needed.

The ln130 gauge clusters have an adjustment pot on the back which can be set to allow a 4 cylinder cluster to work on an 8 cylinder motor. I got my 1UZ working with a factory petrol cluster. Not sure if the earlier gauges have the same adjustment but you will need a converter unless you can find a non efi petrol cluster with a tach that can accept the high voltage output signal from your Chev.
