80 series help?

Post by a80crewza »

Hi, while driving at higher speeds, 100km/h ish, revs are around 2200rpm. But it seems like i am having to give it to the truck to keep it at that speed. As soon as I take my foot of the accelerator without clutch in it slows down quite quickly. Might be coz i havent pumped up tires in a while. Is this normal :?:

Also boost gauge is telling me i'm getting up to 16psi when feeding it going at higher speeds, seems quite high?.. I think it might be the gauge that is faulty.

Truck is a 1hd-t 5 speed, 33s.

cheers :)

my old manual cruiser was the same factory on 32s, not sure on boost, never had one of them guages, was revving quite high at 100 and took a lot of pedel, wasnt much between cruising and flat foot, foot off the gas and it slowed down pretty quick.

Mine sits around 2300 at 100k's easily with the AT's at 38PSI, after a trip with tyres at 18PSI, I struggle to stay comfortably at 90....

I would sort your tires out first

Mines an auto, with 35 x13.5 mudzilla's - around the same figures as above - 2200rpm and boosting around 10psi at 100kph

Hi, thanks for the replies. Good to know, sounds like my figures are pretty similar to what you guys are getting. Just pumped my tires up to 35 psi for the road, so should make a difference . Is it better to pump them up higher than that even though it says not to?

Cheers.
