-65 offset rims

after a little bit of advise here, after flipping the centers of a set of alloy wheels i have ended up with a huge offset (-65) my question is by running these on my truck (98 ford courier ifs) how much extra load will it be putting on the steering and wheel components? i know for sure it will be alot more strain but will the ifs setup withstand the extra stress? i dont plan on jumping or doing anything to extreme with the vehicle but also dont want it to be unsafe.....but i love that extra width and looks awsome!

Short answer, don't know. It will place more load on bearings/ball joints but I don't know what the life degradation would be.

You'll need certification to run with that much offset (makes track width more than 25mm wider than OE), so best bet would be to take it in for cert to let the pro's make the call

might look good but not even certifiable sorry mate. max allowance is 20% of rim I'vee just been through this with my truck and have just purchase a new set of 15x10-44s to be legal
1990 surf 350 chevy jacked up and currently under construction again

hey thanks guys for the responses, and i think you are right , il probably go for 15x10 with -44 they will probably look just as wide with the 10 inch wide rim compared to the 8 anyway

that or use the -65s for muds offroad only and then put standard 8s with road tyres.an option anyway. thats my plan as ive already spent the money widening my originals

yea that sound like a good idea just love the wide look even with the bald road tyres looking forward to getting a decent set of muddys on them 8)
