1993 Hilux Surf for sale

Post by DieselBoy »

The bro in law is moving his Surf on.

As you guys know, it's been around the country with us on some of our epic adventures and will be missed. It's never let him down, is mechanically sounds and super reliable.

Specs are:

1993 Hilux Surf
V6 Auto
2" suspension lift
ARB Bull bar
9500lb winch
Maxxis Bighorn MT764 tyres, about 75% tread remaining
Black Steel 15x8 Rims

She's a pretty tidy truck, and he's a mechanic so it's been we'll looked after. Selling to fund the building of a bigger vehicle that can sleep his twins, him and his mrs.

tidy cool looking truck but being v6 he might be struggling ay, as you would know, considering you can get a 1kz model for that price, good luck to him though.

It really depends if the buyer wants a Diesel or not. I personally would rather have the stock V6 over the 1kz for performance on and off the road.

As for running costs, its that same old debate, petrol at the pump versus a diesel with road tax, extra servicing costs and more frequent service intervals.

There's no Surfs, Petrol or Diesel for that money, kitted out with a ARB bar, snorkel, winch, lift, muddies and hooks with a known service history like this one :D :D :D :D :D

I am interested in what you guys reckon it is worth though, it's hard to know.

We picked the price due to the fact it's set up ready to go, in good mechanical condition and from a known back ground.

But as you know, something's only worth what others are willing to pay!!!

I'd say price is ok considering the Km's VS the set up and with a quick bodylift decent sized tyres can pop on :) drove a V6 with manual for years and loved it most of the time. Does it have LSD rear?

1 a those vehicles that would appeal to a lot a people cause of how its setup and looks.

some a those people would turn away once they realise its a v6 auto with highish ks, but then someone who knows enough will realise it has a solid history and you cant beat that..

a lot of people simply wont look at a diesel so if someone wants a petrol tourer ready to go then I guess its perfect

Yeah, It almost went last night, but the dude bailed at the last minute due to the dodgy weather down south causing havoc with flights and ferry crossings.

Dave's phone number is 021672210, give him a ring, he's keen as to move it on so he can get his L.R 110 running!!

i think it's very fair, given all the bits. I'm not keen on the 3 litre v6 motor as a general rule, because of head/gasket issue reputation, but if you were going to buy one, then a well maintained one like this is much less of a risk.
Try buying a stock one in good condition. Then add all those bits to it. Might cost you $10-12k!(all up)
