Good Auckland fitter?

Post by daymo »

I have a new set of muds to fit to my current rims, and will fit the best old tyre as the spare (currently a different size) 5 x fitted and balanced in total. This will leave the current spare, brand new never driven on dunlop grandtrek 265/70r16 surplus.

Anyone know of a good fitter on the Shore or Auckland central that aint to pricey for non supplied tyres? To save me the hassle of trying to onsell the surplus spare, would anyone consider fitting and balancing 5 tyres as a trade for the grandtrek?

Little bit out of your target area but I got a good deal from Mag & Tyre Direct (Olive Road, Penrose)

$20ea strip, fit and balance
$15ea fit and balance

That is if you carry in the rims and tyres, would cost more if they are removing and refitting wheels to a vehicle as it takes more time.

They did an awesome job too, even gave me the option of what style wheel weights I wanted.

I'd suggest most places should do it for around those prices. Tony's Tyre Service in Wairau are good to deal with too, they do all my free puncture repairs.

Ended up at Firestone Birkdale. Quoted $80 off the bat to strip, fit and balance 5 wheels on the vehicle. To save me the hassle I traded in the spare for $30, so cost me $50. $10 ea stripped fitted and balanced! Can't complain at that.
