22nd - 23rd

Post by FORGE1 »

Looks like ill start this one.

My weekend started on Friday

Met Dannz71 not in the best of circumstances but it was good to meet you mate and will catch up soon that hilux looks to be a very capable truck.

Today spent a bit of time under the rough truck, refitted the viscous fan, started fitting flares and changed the wiper motor over to my spare one.

Plan tomorrow is t fit the rear bar to my good truck and grind the rockslider plates off the rough truck ready to weld on to the good one.

replace blown bulbs in terrano for warrant, just waiting for brake pads and swaybar bushes and shell be ready for the warrant check after cert.

Non 4wd related, made a sled out of some old ski's, and half a pallet, had a bit of fun, now wanting to make some sort of powered snow scooter using a chainsaw motor or similar.

only problem is that it doesnt snow that often here.

Headed up Big river with some friends, played on some of the side tracks and had a blast spent the night at Big river hut. Woke up this morning to a cracking frost and some sluggish diesel fuel , and then shot down to the Waipuna and did the tunnels today before coming home via the Mauria saddle and fish and chips in Murch
All in all a great trip and a great weekend

Serviced the FWH on the Lux and some rust repairs on the guards, in between gale force wind gusts and torrential rain, but I do have a workshop. :D. Like Fullthrottle I have added to my firewood collection for another season, amazing amount of damage around

fitted the injection manifold on the lada and started to plan where I must mount things, may need to do a small loom lengthening for the AFM.

Also need to get a accelerator cable made up to suit. Where is the best place?

I just got to get the right ends to joint to the Lada pedal and the fiat throttle body, throttle body is easy, lada end bit is a bit different

Will have to look at getting one of them bike brake cables though, cheers

I can often get away with a round end brake cable, and cut the plastic off one of the little blocks. I've been known to cut them down to one screw size too.

Howd you manage that Dan? No oil would have taken longer than backing it off the truck I would have thought, did it inhale some liquid so something?
