Hanmer (Thermal Thunder) Winch Challenge

Post by muddy »

Any information yet? The Mainland Winch Challenges and 4x4events websites are pretty sketchy on details... Only 3 weeks away and keen to enter....

Event is on the Friday night and Saturday. The 4x4 Events website shows it as being Sat and Sunday but this is wrong. Entry at the moment is through the 4x4events website. Its going to be a bare bones event this year. Been real busy so concentrating on getting good tracks setup, wont be any prizegiving or meal etc. Entry is $75 incl Mainland Challenge fee. Any queries email me at info@puckerpark.co.nz

will be bloody cold, lots of snow in area.
all that were their last year knows how cold it got.
frozen winch ropes on trucks, and that was before the event started.
make sure you are all, prepare for the cold this year.

Never assume anything my friend  . Won't be signposted but once you go past the service station take the next left, then left again onto Woodbank Rd. The Park is about 6kms along, big sign at gate.

Will be a great event this year, was still 3 inches of snow about at the bottom of the hills. The weather should have it all gone by the weekend. Time will tell :?: :?:

I hope Rick hasn't been digging any more of those crazy deep icy mud wallows! Probably not since he's trying to drive them this year... Not as much fun as watching others wade through them...

looks like to nor-west wind has melted a be of the snow over the week.
hopefully that melts some of the ice.

Is there a charge on the gate this year?

craig, i dont think so, but if there is it would be bugger all.

the boys are already up there getting the final track marking sorted.

a couple of changes to the first tracks due to snow damage, but these will be driven before the start of the event.

lets see if you can guess the tracks i put in :D
