steering drag link safari

hey guys

my warrant guy said i need to replace one of the ball joints on my steering drag link. since it is a one piece job do i have to replace the whole thing? and its off a 88 safari so its the uncommon pin to pin steering damper.

does anybody have a 2nd hand one (good condition) i could buy??

I have good second hand one in taranaki but i see Rs Chromolly ones with renewable tie rods (you can remove them and change the end / lengths to recentralize steering after lifts for 250 plus gst ,

i had to do one on my truck aswell

you can get the ball joint rebuilt for between $80
or new adjustable one from $160ish+
this is at trade cost
so if ur in the automotive trade or got a mate who is
otherwise trademe is the go

new is normally best
autolign is were i got mine

If you get adjustable one try to get one with ends that have the same thread size as the steering arm as will be standard and spares will be easier if you ever have end break out on a trip.

Speedy Lube & Tyre in Hamilton sell them for about $185 + GST and are heaver than standard.
