KZN185 Surf Lift kits

Post by wattsy »

Hi all, I have a 98 intercooled surf. When I had my earlier model 130 I picked up a great Raw Nitro kit on Trademe, had shocks, springs and brake extender hose.Does anyone know where these are available for the 185. Was around 2 inch lift and handled great on and off road and was a reasonable price

Cheers

Any other suggestions welcomed

Have had the Raw in for a fair while now. This kit is for the prado as well. I fitted 15mm coil spaces on front as well to get 50mm lift all round. Handles well

Autolign I got the shocks and springs from them as well. Keeps it sitting even. Dont think they cost much from memory. I must say I added a 3inch exhaust and dump pipe and that has made a significant difference to performance as well.

Hi guys

I'm a new member and have a Surf 185 V6 and am looking to lift 50mm to assist in towing the boat and keeping my truck out of the sea as much as possible. I have been discussing Raw Nitro shocks with BNT and trying to agree on the spring options. Given I want to use primarily on road the ride and handling are important to me as well as being able to tow 1500KG boat could you advise what you've used thanks

PS I will provide a little bit more of a profile this evening

I cant remeber to be honest is there standard 50mm spring and suspension lift. Front only does about 35mm hence the spacers. These are the same as the Prado as the 185 surf has the same chassis. I think the Prado is slightly heavier although I find mine ok and I only really do shiny school fundraiser trips and I have mud tyres on as well

Well after a chat with Iain at Racelign have decided on Bilstens all round and Dobi springs on the back, should get about 20 to 30 mm front lift and 40 to 50 mm on the back, not sure exactly how much as I don't know how much the old springs have sagged.
Booked in next week :P so will let you know how it all works out, looking forward to some better handling and less sag when I tow

EFS is another option, I have found them fairly good even when unloaded, but for some reason my truck must be heavy in the front as I had to go to the XXXHD spring in the front to get the lift I wanted (about 2.5 in)
