Seeking a 4WD in Wellington.

Post by Gyxx »

Hi all.

I'm in Wellington and looking for either: a reasonably tidy 4WD suitable for use as a daily driver and for occasional outings with the local 4WD club, or a cheaper 4WD just for use as a weekend toy.

I need something I can fit the family in so that rules out anything without rear seats. I'm biased towards Toyotas but I'll look at anything suitable even something American, British or Russian if the price is right ;-) ...

If you're selling or know someone who is please let me know.

Thanks

I know you expressed interest in landrover discoverys in your other thread so...
Yesterday I saw a blue diesel disco for sale in Palmy on the side of the road.
IN the dark it looked tidy. apparently has been serviced by one of the local specialists whilst current owner has owned it. had ARB bulbar up front etc.
auto, though and had around 300k on it.
he was asking $6k. I have the number if you're interested.

There is a White LR 110 2 door hardtop parked down by Burnham Wharf in Miramar that I keep meaning to stop and take a few photo's of, looks tidy enough (as I drive by), no idea of price/year/motor though.

It's not on TM (unless its advertised as outside of Wgtn)

Could be worth a look, with a little work to fit 33" tyres, a set of sliders, Tow hooks front and back and your ready for club shinny trips. They are comfy and half the price of a Toyota and don't disgrace themselves. I've never owned one but my mate( 33" Murray ) has built up several and they go good.

FITZY.

^being a 2.8 diesel (carjam tells me it's a 4m40 by the engine number etc etc) it should have a factory body lift and take 33" tyres no problem, AFAIK .
Nice strong front ends, everything tucked up out of the way, easy to lift a little. No toyota tax. etcetcetc

Hey all.

Sorry if anyone's posted and not heard back from me yet, I'm not being an ignorant c***, I just haven't had a chance to get on the computer the past couple of days and I'm just catching up on all the posts and PMs people have sent me (lots)...

I'll try and reply to everyone tonight I didn't realise how many people would respond.

Thanks
