there is two yd25 in the D22. early one is NOT common rail and NZ new its only in the 2wd ute. havn't heard of any here but the 4x4 models oversea blow the bottom end bearings.

the 2008 on yd25 is common rail. they have a few issues with timing chain and the turbo is not variable so its fairly gutless low down in stock form.
i think 2008 model also has different gear ratios than the later ones.
they are also thai built and not up to the quality of the earlier jap ones.

I have a few customers with them. The biggest complaint is the lack of go below 2k then its all on. One customer prefers his older qd32 navara for towing the diesel tank as it is much smoother and doesn't break traction on shingle like the yd25 does when it comes on boost.
The early ones have the same problematic pump as the zd30.
I do know of one running a bearing and when it went back to nissan (lease vehicle) they weren't surprised.
I would probably buy one in a DX navara if I was buying a new ute.

if you get one don't put the radiator caps on the wrong tanks (2 radiator caps)
know off 2 that have cooked heads due to this fault
good power for a 2.5l turbo diesel tho
another d21 terrano
