Not being as mechanically minded as the others this was a big call but its on the bucket list so nows the time!
I intend to build it out in a similar way to DB and 4x4ambs with the rear sleeping quarters etc.
SO here it is as I got it...

Not too bad condition for living in the Marlborough sounds for the last 10 years, a few little niggles and issues to be sorted.
First up was the broken bonnet stay catch. The broken part I found in the truck still so that was a bonus.
A trip up to DieselBoys to inspect the truck soon had him finding a bit of alloy to fix it up. And so it begins!

That night the stripping began. First, make sure it fits in the garage!

Ripped the rear out:

The roof especially at the front was a bit caved in from 'heavy snow'... the footprints on the roof tell a different story.
Removed the head lining, the front area was quite damp up top, a bit of condensation, and the cardboard part was pretty soaked and mouldy, most likely the biggest contributor to the damp smell inside! Wonder if there is a leak somewhere..
As you can see the braces are bent at the front and come away from the roof itself.. some gentle manipulation should hopefully get it back into some sort of reasonable shape...

Next morning finished removing the interior, washing and waterblasting what I could and sanding back some surface rust areas and rust proofing them. There are a couple of areas in the doors to be fixed more substantially over the coming week tho. Must figure out the easiest way to remove the glue from the carpet areas... (glue back over it with the new stuff...!?)

And made a start on sanding back and repainting the seat frames for the front seats, battery and tool box covers, and other general bits that need touching up

Enough work for one day, next is some minor rust repairs in the front footwell, and find some cheap marine or vehicle carpet for the seat box before i put the seats back in.
This is kind of where I want it to end up, minus the exterior rollcage...
