Hilux - Wellington

Post by dratsum »

Hey
Recently bought a '89 Hilux with 280,000kms on the clock (just warmed up).
New to the 4wding scene, been out with the ccvc guys on their last 2 shiny trips and am keen to step it up a bit - just need to get my truck all set up!

Picked her up from quake city looking like this

Welcome to ORE.

I'm sure there will be plenty of good advice on what you can do with your truck. Just tell everyone what type of driving you would like to do (Rivers, Ruts, Bush bashing or just cruising).

I recommend doing some research, taking in the feedback and then making your priority list plan for the truck. These things can end up being a money toilet if you're not careful

Id like to give everything a hoon!
Have already thrown a bunch of cash at it!
Picked up some new kicks for it today - set of 31inch Maxxis buckshots.
Its got diff beathers, and its been raised (unsure how much though).
It has 8leafs in the rear and 6in the front... how many does it come with standard does anyone know?
My plans for the near future at the moment are: t/c and g/b breathers, pintle hook at the back and a tow hook at the front.
Future things: Rocksliders, snorkel

Hey Matt I went on the last ccvc akas trip. There was 25 vehicles! Was a cool trip through the forest but to be honest was a bit tame. Won't be hitting the next one.

Fair enough. Join the club then you have a range of harder trips to go on.

Cheers
Matt.
