deanos paj

Post by Deano.f »

after owning a few trucks trucks in the past my most recent truck decided to give up the ghost(2lt surf snapped a cam belt) i had the oppertunity to buy the brother inlaws swb pajero as he had upgraded. it had no rego and no warrent and in pretty poor condition i picked it up for a steal. we spent the first month getting it up to warrent specs and finally after 18 months of not having a wof or reg she was all legal with all new brakes wind screen and exhaust system aswell. finally we had a clean slate to work with, the interior got stripped out and the rusted in back seats and carpets made there way into the rubbish pile. this made way for dive bottle for on board air, mounting bar for harness and storage box in the rear for gear(must get a interior pic). chucked on some 31s i had floating around and took it out on the farm for a burn was slightly impressed buy the power compared to my old truck but not to impressed in its ground clearance

Image

so we chucked on my mates 35x12.5r15 mudzillas from his d class truck looked sweet but couldnt turn the wheels

Image

and still getting stuck every where

Image

i decided to try a body lift and chucked in some raw shockys

Image

this added a bit more clearance and helped with the small amount of flex it doesnt have. after getting tired of being stuck i wanted to be abit more self sufficient so i brought a winch

Image

not the flashest out the but will do the trick but we now had the problem of building a front and rear bar to suit the lift and winch

Image

Image

so the rear bar wasnt to much of a issue but we now had to sort out the front

Image

half way thru i thought i better take a snap shot and almost done

Image

Image

Image

wanted to keep it as close as possible so it didnt act like a snow plow. slapped abit of paint around

Image

Image

Image

extended the solinoid cables and tucked it right up high

Image

all mounted on the truck

Image

and retryed the 35s

Image

now she was ready for a beatdown so we took her out with my mates new truck

Image

was amazed by the results didnt get stuck once and climbed hills like a donkey. the trucked seemed to spin them easy as too

Image

so this is where i am at as of this weekend. a few more mods on the cards so stay tuned
