Land Cruiser 4.1 diffs.

Are the front and rear diff heads interchangeble?

I have a spare front diff head... Can I bolt this into the back end without causing any problems?

Model dependent. I think 70 series and above cannot be interchanged... Some one else might to have more input.

70 series were same 9.5 inch fr and rear up till 90 then they went to the small up pinion front aka 80 series ,40 and 60 heads are same fr to back only difference if its semi or full floater some have centre block some dont .hope this helps

40 series (BJ42) ...drum brakes all round

I am fairly sure the current rear diff is LSD although changing to a standard one is not a concern.
