Recommended engine reconditioners

Post by Jon Andrews »

Hi all, my first post here so a bit of a newbie. I have a 96 Bighorn 3.1 that's been in the family for 15 years and has 350k on it.

It's either suffering from a blown head gasket or a cracked head so I want to weigh up the options to get a reconditioned engine or get this one fixed or reconditioned if appropriate. The body is in good condition, I've reconditioned the transmission (auto) and done a heap of other work on it so if I can sort the engine out for a reasonable cost then it will live to fight another day.

I live in Wanaka but can get the vehicle to Chch for work. Can anyone recommend a good engine reconditioner in Central Otago or Chch that's Isuzu friendly? Thanks, Jon.

I have recently had my Terrano engine replaced by Kaiapoi Repowers, you could give them a ring and ask. 03 327 5317
