Hey guys,
Do any of you thompsons track regulars have any info on the "hundred acre" block. I havent been up thompsons track in about a year but was hoping to take the Mrs up in the 4wd and walk the rest of the way. I have heard the views are worth the walk. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get up to it from the summit?

You access it via the second play area. last time I was up there it was a single winch just past the rocks, but still pretty ugly from there on too, that was three years ago, won't have gotten any better. quite possibly easier, and safer, to park up and walk it. Great views.
As for from the summit... I guess if you walk back on the bush track you would eventually come across the area, maybe a google earth viewing could help.

from the summit there is a walking track to the left (looking towards katikati from te aroha)which takes about 10min to the clearings. primo views yes

Awesome guys, yup was planning on driving up as far as needed but wasnt sure where the track branched off.
