78 series LSD - was it a standard feature?

Post by Gyxx »

Hey all

Can someone educate a dumb noob please...

Did 78 series cruisers come with a rear LSD as standard and if not would there be any markings on the diff to identify what type it is?

I'm looking at buying this beastie if the price dosen't get silly - a very tidy and unmolested little cruiser with a 1KZ that ticks all my boxes.

Thanks

Im not sure if they did or not quickest way to identify (if it hasent been tampered with) the code on the firewall under Diff Axel code should be XXXXX - GXX5 the first Xs are Transmission code the second set G=8 inch diff heads and the 5=lsd ifs its a 4 it will be open. this is for rear diff only fronts are 2 pinion open.
