Terrano d21 auto transmission problem

My trans has recently started to fail, 1st gear is good, 2nd is good, when it's trying to shift into 3rd it struggles and revs it's arse off! Done a service on it, oil and filter, cut old filter open, bugger all shit in it. But oil is discoloured. Clutch bands/ packs worn? 290000km on truck so wouldn't be surprised.

is the color of the oil tell whats wrong
can somebody give more info
on bad oil and good oil color
whats an easy fix or to go replacement in this case used outo

And don't forget to check the computer, found inside the fuel tank, access via blow torch. Please video for our, and everyone's future education.

the computers for the outo is in the rr panel
but there another on top of the outo
please get it correct mate

I would re-check the oil levels.

slipping high clutch (comes on for 3rd and 4th), time for s/h box or rebuild.

Just got it checked out and yes your right. My high clutch is slipping. Costly job which i cannot afford.... My options are replace auto trans, manual conversion, get old one fixed or sracp my truck and start new with another truck... hilux... im aloud to dream

replace the auto there are plenty around if you want to take the time to change the bell housing and bolt your transfer case on the back. this opens up your options from a lot of nissan models skyline/cefiro/laurel/patrol/mistral/silvia/elgrand/caravan/pathfinder etc etc all these models come with the RE and RL transmissions.

I just recently changed my automatic transmission myself, as I was given advice from an Auto 'expert' that it was buggered. Anyway turns out, after I put the replacement one it same problem existed and that the actual problem was a blown Transmission Computer.

So anyway, ive got a good Transmission for you if you need, Ill do you a sweet price! Also, where are you located? Could give you some tips if you are gonna do the job yourself..
