I figured you were playing with something along those lines when you stated earlier that you had AS adjustment from 29% - 110%.
It is quite easy to get 50%-110%, but to achieve your range would take some "Reece" thinking

Run into a clearance issue with the springs ment I've had to move my lower mount it has helped in one aspect its steepened the dropping Anti-Squat it now drops faster but its narrowed the AS ratings 39,56,61,75,82 and 94
To give you an idea of the drop in rate on the 82% setting at full extention on the suspension (9") changes to 29%

Been working on the springs really getting over the smell of rust dust and I've only done one spring
Here's what I started with a standard HD landy spring

Cut the center pin and only the bottom leaf came off belted the crap out of it nope nothing so ended up cutting the small bit of pin sticking then belting the crap out of the leaf till it finally moved then start again with the next one
Then flap the rust off and decided to taper the ends of the springs, since the spring is going to travel further than standard (15") I didn't want stress points where the leaves finish
Some of you might remember a thread a little bit longer than a while ago I did about Leaf springs, figured I had to have a go as one of the suggestions
One blister later from using tin snips to cut the 3mm UHMPE

I've cut the spring to about 3/4 the length of the standard but I'm 1/4 eliptical and with the plastic... I took an educated guess as to spring rate (number and length of the leaves)
Here's the test

its just taken the weight at 100mm of travel so I'm guessing I'm not going to be far off the mark of 150mm travel once I add all the bits back onto the back of the chassis

I also got the tank dry from the POR15 pre-treatment so painted the tank sealer

Now just need to finish the CAD work on the spring mount and I'll make that tomorrow

Are you going to use standard type shackle bushes at the diff or get creative? Or is that a silly question
Im just using cheap shackle bushes. They work sweet, but don't last long for some reason

Haven't made my mind up on the shackles yet, since I'm running 15" shocks I'm going to get alot of twist, working on the idea of a twist shackle
Just hung up on tieing the lower front arm mounts into the clamp block for the springs to improve its strength (and cool factor ) got it sorted in CAD just need to build it now

Sad thing is the toy might be parted out yet got one guy keen as but doesn't have the money so looking at options at this stage... hopefully

There's a plastics fab company just down the road from me they make the big fish tanks like Kelly Tarltons, they have alsorts of stuff in stock
Had a friend there yrs ago who used to take home off cuts, but having bought it before for jobs I'd say your looking at $150 for enough to do front and rear springs
Most tool and bearing shops can get it in cut to order

Yep, I did go in and talk to the guys at classic plastics they recomended a different product called Nyloil but at $300 for enough to do my springs I figured I'd have a go with UHMWPE
Was talking with a mate of the Certifier over the weekend while he was in to do Nobbers truck, he was telling me there is a company that make a brand of springs called "Slipper springs" he has them fitted to his tuder hotrod, recon'd the plastic is the same just alot thinner.... possibly as thin as 1.5mm don't know if I'd go that thin but I'd try 2mm

cheers fella i'll investigate further as factory springs are a little archaic in function and pretty limited for flex in standard form,
did you remove a couple leaves as well?

Yep removed one main and two of the shorter ones and I'll possibly shorten another main... but I'm 1/4 elliptical so don't think mine is a good indicator of how to (I'll hopefully have some pic's up tonight to show what I'm up to)
Reading build threads from the UK seems to be remove 3 to 4 leaves from the standard pack witch would work well with the U bolts if you put 3mm thick plastic strips in

Id say your drill press brushes copped a bit of wear too Looks good

Just a thought in the 1980s we used fit hiace rear springs straight into series 2 rovers . they used to work quite well and there were only 3 or 4 leaves .I don;t know if the later ones fit but it might give you more spring options at very little cost.

yea the 12mm drill has a bit of blue tinge on the end now think its due for a sharpen..... only got a couple more plates to speed hole and the puzzle will go together... the plate on the inside was what had me working it has 5 contours, matches to the curve of the chassis and links the spring mount into it to spread the load 2 days of CAD and cardboard templates to get that one was determined to get it with one plate... if I was doing it for someone it wouldn't be this stupidly complex I just couldn't resist the challenge (and yes I will have it ready for Costa )

There is a local Landy that is running hilux rears out back with a pre-load torque arm, it goes incredibly well but the guy has spent over 20yrs working on it

This could get interesting.... been doing a bit of reading on the english landy forums found an old thread about a PTO setup for the Rangy transfer cases that uses what looks like the dog clutch setup from the center diff lock and the front drive flange from another transfercase guy was looking at selling them so didn't post up too many details.... but there was a couple of pic's.... and I have two rangy gearbox's might see if I can work out how it was done
