Auto To Manual Hubs?

Post by BogBoy »

Ok so I brought some manual hubs but they didnt come with any instructions on how to fit them...

I leave the washer behind the circlip in and theres no cv shaft slop but the hub wont lock.

Take the washer and circlip out and theres heaps of slop but the hub will lock, With the cv shaft pulling out of the hub due to lack of circlip.

Havent tried it with just the circlip yet.

Is it posible to put the circlip on the outer end of the shaft with the manual inner over the shaft first?

SO so so confused

Any one used these "force" hubs before?

I have the same hubs, there are two grooves in the cv shaft one for the auto hub clutch and one for the manual hub. Pull all the old auto hub crap off, pull the centre of the manual hub out and you should see one half of a dog clutch, fit this to the cv shaft with the circlip on the outer groove (its a bastard to get seated properly) then line the cutouts up with the bolt holes and fit the rest of the hub. If you still have trouble I'll pull mine of and get you some pics

Yea I saw that outer groove. I had some one tell me it was for a circlip into the auto hub

Bit cold to do it now but will switch it around tomorrow.

I dont need the last toothed washer any more?

Exact assembly depends on the brand of manual hub.
