Shortening a Terrano? Just think it through in your mind first.

You could go as far back as the bar the shocks are mounted on but you would have to relocate the fuel tank and mod your body a lot!!
Its up to you but that's a lot of work, how serious are you wanting to get?

park your truck on driveway, grab a beer (If your old enough to drink :D ), get under your truck with a tape measure, have a look at what your wanting to cut and where things can go if your wanting to move them.

Anything is possible with a big enough grinder and a beer inspired planning session.
It's just more fun in a lada !!

Hey Phil, if an auto to manual conversion is to difficult for you, you gunna need plenty of beers to even think about shortening a terrano! Go buy a couple dozen and an angle grinder. You'll either be the type and end up with a short wagon, or you'll just end up with a hangover..
Of course if beer isn't your thing- bourbon, vodka etc, any alcohol will do :P

Ps- when typing a post, that little red wiggly line under some words mean that that word has been spelt incorrectly. Makes spelling checking so much easier, even for the illiterate :D
Which makes it so much easier to read for all, especially the illiterate!

Simple, Not allowed to drink during work hours, so work time planning sessions are beer free. :(

Hence the things we come up with at work are not as out-there as plan's made outside work hours. :D

Just shorten the tranferbox when you shorten the chassis - there is usually a gap between the tranferbox and the outo which is where i'd shorten it.

I'd prob get a 2door mistral and use its shorter drive shaft to decide length so it's a stock part and easy replacement or just start with a mistral then build up But there are stronger base platforms to start from .But am all for different and new projects as they bring out new ideas . V6 mistrals the right model use 300zx boxes which are alot stronger just something else to think about
