Whats a good Airing down psi pressure for silverstone mt 117

Hi all, Just wondering what is a good PSI to run silverstone mt 117 in the mud on a light suzuki vit ???

I would start at 20 and then adjust from there. With a light truck you can go lower but need to be mindful to keep the beads on the rim...
Its a bit of a try and see what works..Each truck / tyre combo work differently...

I run about 18 on my 33's Silverstones on my Wrangler.

Tubeless, and i am always suffering from bead leaks...

Needless to say, i am ordering tubes...

Depends on what size tyre, rim width and obviously your trucks weight.

My KZJ-71 Prado on 32" Simex's I run at about 12 at the lowest. They bag nicely at that. Truck weighs about 2300kg and rims are 8".

As above start higher and progressively drop until they bag, but you still don't have issues. Too low and you will de-bead a tyre or rotate the tube chopping the valve stem off!

Run my 33s silverstones at 15psi. Truck is about 2ton. Works a treat. But as above do suffer from bead leaks and constantly fixing them no biggy tho.

Ok thanks for all the good info guy's, ill start at 20psi an progressively work my way down from there as i'm working my way through the tracks..

31's silverstone's on 16x7 rim's an i assume the suzuki wouldn't way over a tone..

Actually is bagging these tyre really necessary ? as they have such good tread patten for mud, i understand bagging the MT style tyre to gain more traction from the tyre patten... Ma bad if this sounds like a silly question an pretty new to all this.

These tyres are fairly aggressive for what they are. I wouldn't bother bagging them at all if all you are doing is mud bunny work.
There are more reasons for airing down than just footprint. If you are in country that has lots of projections (tree stumps & roots, sharp rocks etc) air out helps lessen the chances of staking your tyre. I run 5-8psi in my tyres (when I remember to air them out ), and it helps them stick to odd shapes as they encapsulate the surface.
It's going to be trail and error, but I don't see that airing down is going to outweigh the advantage of ground clearance for you in a zuk.

Lower pressure offroad also causes a smoother ride, especially for the leaf sprung hilux's

I run 18psi front, and 15psi rear on a LWB Nissan Safari, and 8psi front, 6psi rear on the Hilux. That's 35x11.5x15 tyres on 6in rims with tractor tubes. Low pressures do make a big difference - larger footprint, softer ride, less chance of punctures, and the flexing of the tyre helps better mud clearing from the tread.

Honestly im with Xj.
I run my 35 Silverstones at 3-5psi in my 1800kg buggy. Not beadlocked. never popped a bead. Liquid nailed the fronts on last time I had them apart to clean the mud out the beads.
In a Suzi, 10psi and you'll be safe as a tripple joey'd ginger.

20psi is quite high, in the sj I can have my 31 powerguards reading zero on the gauge and they are only slightly bagged. Its all about vehicle weight. The above advice is on the money

OK , this is interesting no-more-nails, or liquid nails...
I may have a nead for this type of bead lock in the future, for my vintage trialing. What is the best product to use? The proper cleaning procedure 1st, and do you do both beads?
I have tried it b4 once using bostik, and another time using professional windscreen adhesive. Neither gluing method worked.

Very kern to know how to do this and actually get it to work.

Oh and when you do need to remove the tyres, what is the bead breaking method you then use?

Cheers guys i really like the no nails idea sounds bloody sweet!!! So do you have too take the tyre off to apply it or can i just simply apply from the outside of the tyre wall ? I thought seeing tho my tyre's are still brand spanking shiny an this will be the first time i get to try them this weekend it would be a good time to apply this miracle soloution before i get mud in the bead...

I wouldn't consider it a beadlock alternative.... I had my beads completely off the rim face, covered them in Selleys liquid nails, re-inflated them and left them in the sun for a couple of days. I hoped it might keep the beads clean rather than hold the tyre on. Has done both so far.

Do remember that "airing down" is all well and good, but you should "air up" for on road 100kph travelling, thus you'll need a compressor!
