What are the best brake rotors

Post by Diorama »

Doing a complete overhaul of my 80 series brakes and want to get the best out of my brakes for towing. I am looking at replacing my front and rear brake rotors. What are the best design i.e. smooth, slotted, or slotted and drilled. What is the best make and where is the best place to buy. Happy to import if necessary

Dba slotted rotors are pretty good.just not sure if you can get them for an 80.i was warned off drilled rotors due to people having them crack but i havent seen it for myself.
Sometimes it works out cheaper to have a new set of rotors slotted instead of buying slotted rotors.
Thats just from my experience.

Slotted rotors are better than standard but you will get the most noticeable improvement by putting in top of the line pads in and they won't be cheap, i would recommend bendix ultimate if they do them for your Toyota.

If you take it off road, slotted rotors are generally not recommended.

I have been using DBA standard rotors with Bendix Ultimate pads for a couple of years, very happy with the combination.

Try BNT for good price.
