OK all you 40 gurus.. I need to know is the 70 series GB will bolt up? or did they do a split case xfer..? as Im sure you can pull the 4spd and bolt up the 5spd..???

only difference is the input shaft between the diesel and petrol
otherwise bell housing bolts are the same

the 5 speed is the same unit as the 4 with the over drive gear as a separate unit behind the main box for the over drive, this will make your drive shafts lengths wrong and will need alterating

pretty certain that all the 5 speeds were running the split transfer box, although i may be corrected
