Longer shocks

Post by zukmeista »

The Rugger needs some longer shocks, the current ones only have 1" of downtravel at ride height. They measure 12" compressed and 19" extended. There is room for a 2" longer compressed length, the longer the extended length the better. They are pin-eye and the same front and rear. I would like to know if there are shocks off other models eg hilux that will suit.

Harry go into Repco and ask to go through their shock book, it will give you all the lengths, takes a while but worth it, they never seem to mind when I spend an hour leaning on the counter

Found out by accident (was mucking around on 4wdbits) that hiluxes have the same shock mounts on the front and about the same measurements standard so just have to find some lifted front hilux shocks. :D

go see Red at repco ask for the shockbook and work it out,
you'll likely find something perfectly suitable for the same as second hand aftermarket hilux stuff.
If Red asks who put you onto him just let him know Jase from Hika/Hamilton
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions

Haven't seen him there for a while, the guy I usually deal with was busy and the person I talked to just gave me a blank look and said "we only sell standard parts can't help you" So went round to partmaster and they are looking into it, if they can't help I will just buy EFS ones from 4WDbits.
