The mighty terrano auto

Post by hamboy »

Was giving the old mans fire wood hack a bit of use today and the auto kept going into limp mode. There is plenty of oil in it and it wasn't under load long enough to get hot. I was just shutting it off and restarting it to get it working again. Any idea what would be causing this?

Cheers

it seems to me as these trucks get older the weak part is the gearbox or outo
I have read on here that if it slips gear and revs in 3rd or 4th its the high cluch band and it needs rebuild or get another outo is the easy way out
then there the computers that controls the outo
that's in the rear panel
theres another one on top of the outo
when you say the outo goes into limp mode explain

I don't think it will be getting a new auto or anything new for that matter  . As for the limp mode it just stays in second, I've been thinking it might be the way im driving it

theres a chap on here that told me at times if it stys in 1st or second its the speed senser
its on top of the outo

when these old trucks run well there good
They got more go than the old 2.4
of the same years
but things ware with age
and it seems its always the outos
