10th-11th of august

Post by Crash bandicoot »

I have a three day weekend so I'll kick this one off.

bought a 80 channel GME TX3100 prs with antenna of trademe and fitted it in the truck.

ripped out the poxy the drink holder(that wasn't big enough for a large macca's cup anyway) and trimmed up the dash to fit it in.

Since the suspension lift and roof racks it doesn't fit in under ground carparks i decided to mount the antenna on the roof rack as it unscrews from the lower portion of the flexi mount.

tested the A/C pump- on board air conversion for leaks. It charged up to 120 psi nicely so should be enough to bead a tire if required

I wouldn't imagine theres a lot left visable after the rain in the past couple of years, there are a few photos online and not much left when they were taken. Would be interesting to have a look tho if you don't mind the walk. Bit of rain today too so should make the drive up a bit more interesting coxsy :)

Scored a Redarc charge equaliser from trademe for $150, worth $344 AUD currently.

http://www.redarc.com.au/products/produ ... liser_20a/

Should be sweet for all the 12v loads on the Safari.

Also laughed at some numpty going into red rocks, literally went thru the stream after the drive way and got stuck, driving a Toyota Liteace 2WD on the skinniest of skinny biscuit tahs.

Image

He asked me to help, reversed the Safari up and when I got out he'd already hooked his $2 Repco elastic tow strap to my safety chain mount point and around his tow ball!!!, gave him a telling off and then I used a tow strap - properly.

Fitted 3inch lift in the safari tonight got the hd rear spings to match the ones I got off datsunsafari. Haha there is no give in the back. I can't even bounce it so hope they settle and give some movement.

Will post pics tomorrow.

Next on the list is a set of 33s.

Dropped the gearbox out of my LN106 yesterday after buying the new gearbox earlier this week. Unfortunately got stuck with putting the new gears onto the tail housing so have to figure that one out before it goes back in.

50% completed... hanging out to drive the old girl again.

Got another 5 tracks sorted, its looking real good up there

We had 1UZRNR (Jesse) and his partner Amy, join us for the weekend also, was cool showing them how we wheel down here. Amy cooks some mean brownies too   ... They have limited internet access, and are in the North Island for another 4-5 days then they fly to the South Island... Im know they would love to go wheeling while down country, PM me for their number and take em out for a day 8) 8)

Cheers
