Batfastards baby

Post by Batfastard »

I did a we concrete job for a man in h town 7 years ago.the story goes like this . He asked how much to concrete my garage floor I said 2 k cash . He only had 1k and a dirty old range rover that was wrapped up with blue polly tarps . I live in waiwera at the time and wanted a shiter to put my boat in and out of the water. So I said ok.did the job and we finished the subdivision we were working on and returned to Auckland . He phoned me for six months saying pick it up . So I rang a tow truck and got them to drop it off at my house . I got home from work and the blue tarps had blown off . And I was gobb smacked with what was parked on my front lawn.

It also was powered with a p76 v8.we drove it around for a couple of years then it just got to rusty so it got parked up . I promised Zahra I would restore it. So 6 years later I started. It has turned out to be a lot more work than I thought. A wise man would of water blasted and sprayed some rust kill underneath but I was not wise.

I was gunna just patch up the floor , but it was just to far gone. As I wanted auto power steer and cruise control, LPG and and fuel injection . Not many extras realy.:-).
I had a brainwave buy a doner truck. So I bought a 89 injected auto power steer injected LPG rangerover from sunny Wellington for a $1000 pulled body off and blasted and painted it

Easy as . Pulled all the stuff I wanted off the red one and cut it up and robbed all the good stuff off the four door one and sold them bothe for scrap$785 was stocked

So next problem was to find a rust free three door body as if by magic one appeared on trade me . $650 changed hands and it followed me home on the trailer . It did not see the grinder coming . Sorry for poor photos

Then fitted it on the late model chassis . Every thing lined up . I got some polly and cut some spacers to give it a 50mm lift $20 cut them with drop saw
Image
Next job was to make cut out for auto shifter and try and use late model centre console
Image
Sanded and buffed inside covered with black stone chip the painted the inside as it will tow my comp truck and I'm OCD about shit lookin the same it's lime green
Image
Image
Got bored . For some reasone thought I was building a hot rod and OCD mike strikes again.let u be the judge on this as picks speak for them selfs
