Yep good day, bit of a laugh!! That was MArkR doing the towing, but me doing the history thing and the Hazards etc...yep we can look at a goldmine run, not much to see but interesting. It will need to be a dryish day though.

Cheers for that...Jerry and James.

PS..James...I see above Someones offered to help you do your head gasket, I'd take them up on that if I were you, will be a lot cheaper.

I can't think of any other reason why your radiator would be blowing bubbles and pressurising like that. Could possibly be something else though, maybe something to do with a stuck thermostat, I trust you got home under your own power?

cheers

Mr O.... Mark P is a head gasket king, he blew one 3x in about 2 weeks when we were at Uni! Replaced them himself......hang on, maybe that explains it....!!! Ok, so DON'T ask Mark P for advice, may not work out cheaper!

Thanks for the cool trip. Always fun, and always looking forward to the next one. Already talking about lifts, muddies, and all that other stuff. The old whale didn't disgrace itself today though, it certainly is a fun vehicle and means that we can bring our kids too.

Where to next?? I have heard the words Ralliwoods, and Aotea Block being thrown around before and assume these are other places that we can go?

God don't even mention that movie, John Wayne will be spinning in his grave! I had nightmares thinking about it let alone watching it (being a big western fan) I don't know anyone who has admitted watching it!

By the way we do refer the the play area just past the goldmine stamper, the one with the little hill in the middle that the ZUks couldn't get over, as brokediff mountain, because thats were one of our lot broke his diff last time we were there and we had to tow him out all the way to the main road because it was so wet he could not rely on 2 wheel drive.

A teacher thats into cowboys and claims he's a real man, sounds like a regular at the Blue Oyster Bar (bring your own tennis balls).

Do I have any mates, not many and I guess I can scratch you both off my list now as well  but I hope you and your life partner are very happy together. Anyway enough piss taking

Broke Diff Mountain, now thats funny. Thats one of the reasons I backed off the go pedel when I got to the top. Didn't really expect to make it that far and had no idea what was at the top.

Did you lads drive all the way back on those tyres or did you have some road tyres

No we drove back on Marks big real man tyres. Noisy it was!! He has got another set which I guess by now he's put them on. I would hate to go much further then to paraparaumu where he lives.

Thats the problem with grunty tyres, they are not great on the road, it's hard to find a good balance. I have dunlop mud terrains on my rangie 32" and they are quite good on the road and reasonable off road too, so I'm happy! Thtas what i used in Terawhite during labour weekend and got through all the places we were last weekend, plus it was way way wetter during labour weekend.

Yes, enought of the homo shit!! and I really have nothing against Zuks, just a bit low and light for my liking.

Speaking of those Extreme Trekkers, what pressures is Mark running in them on and off road? I have a set coming and they will be doing a bit of road mileage.

Cheers, Jeff.

I think about 25. He was complaining they were a bit stiff and did not deflate as well as his old ones.

I run my 35" EXT TREK - 34 on road - 20 off road - very stiff side walls - have fitted tractor tubes and will look to run them as low as 12lbs if really slippery

From the outside of mycruiser - they sound like a 737 taking off - inside is a bit better - I know when Auck 4WD Club (nearly all on Simex) are going on a run in SE Auckland - coz I can hear them coming from about 5km away.

Yep the 33x12.5 M/T Wranglers are back on.. What a difference. :P

To be fear, when the simex were new and ballanced, they were quit smooth on the road, but the last few hard yakka trips I've been on have ripped the balance weights off. It's been quit anoying driving it lately. Balancing them this week...

Anyway. 27lbs onroad, down to 10lbs on hard yakka trips.

I didn't let them down on last weekends trip.

thought you might of had crampons strapped to those simex's with the traction you had

or was the sneaky e-locker helping

I must admit the lokers do assist the simex's.

You should see the traction it has when let down to 10lbs
