1990 1.8l hilux economy

Hey guys im thinking of getting a 1990 1.8 petrol hilux 4wd

Could any one give me any info them would be great most intrested in knowing what thair fuel consumption is like and how many k's you will get to a tank roughly

Are you sure its a 1.8 not a 2.0? Seems strange in that age, I thought they only came out with the 3Y-E engine, unless it maybe a dirty old 18R which is probably even worse.
The 3Y is to say the least not powerful, nor is it that great on fuel especially if its carby. My 4Y hilux (2.2) used to struggle to get 350ks to a tank, now its converted to EFI and is a little better, much nicer to drive tho

If im honuest I would'nt have a clue at this stage, as I havent viewed it and im also struggling to gain contact with the seller but thanks for that I will try find out all I kmow is that its a petrol but going by what youve said im starting to doubt if even that is right lol

there must have been a few weird hilux combos around then, i had a 88 that was shaped like a 89+ but with a 1.6 petrol 1y engine, so it could very well be the 1.8 2Y engine

A 1Y in an 89..eeek that would've been slow but then mines an 89 but the pre-88 shape Now with a 4Y-E powerhouse

Haha toyota must have been going through a trial and error phase then, I wish the guy would reply to my emails so I can find out some more info
