My weekend has started early

Finished fabbing up a belly pan for the truck to protect the sump. Factory cover is very thin and doesn't cover the whole sump. New pan is 5mm with a bit of reinforcing.

Trip in to the Aka's on Saturday with the CCVC. Hope it rains a bit.

Went down to Auckland yesterday, got lost, picked up a set of 33" SAT's for the rugger, went to UBZ's place and had a perve at his awesome LJ went to a mates place he is putting a swift GTI G13B motor in his samurai with a snail hanging off the side of it Got lost again, picked up a set of brand new 16" muddies on new rims for $1000, got home at 10pm

Rebuilt the holley and got it back on the 40

Started it up .............. running nicer than it ever has

WooHoo My longfield superset turned up this morning along with new crown and pinion...
Bugger work - think I might put these in instead.

The mission continues... The tyres were all flat as they had been sitting in a shed for ages so I went to pump them up but one of them had a bead off so I took it to the tyre shop, they pulled it off and about 2kg of dirt fell out, tube was buggered so got a new one $60 Got that all fitted up, drove home went to put them on, hiiiiiissssssss Went back to town again tyre comes off AGAIN tube is buggered because the rim was rusty on the inside and put a hole in it. Taken rim to get sandblasted so hopefully it all goes back together fine.

And the mission continues... The rims that the tyres came with are Landrover stud pattern and they had adaptors to fit them to Suzuki/Daihatsu stud pattern but they don't fit over the hub so will have to get them machined out on a lathe.

Finish the new deck on the ute then do some overdue repairs on the boat ready for summer fishing.

Picked up some jigsaw blades and grinding disc.
Dropped in and had a coffee at Monstr's
Trimmed out the panel steel for the back of the Prado Bus , Well short Bus..lol All ready for welding in...

Picked up HP Dana 30 for a front upgrade Powermax No Slip, Arctec Kit and 4030's en route. Hopefully in by summer.

Went for a spin through no name road, headed back down via cockeye creek. Good drive, few washouts that needed some attention. Casualties, safari right front indicator, 70 series... left elec mirror gone, various dents and managed to squash exhaust flat oops good fun chuckin some mud on little side tracks too

Only thing bolted on at the moment is the bloody deck!

Waiting for gearbox to return from getting reconditioned so I can make it go forwards and backwards again! Good time to get all the "small jobs" done

bought a brand new " 60 inch Farm Jack " off trade me a few days ago

tried it out today on the back corner of my hilux and ended up bending it lol

havent had problems using other hi lift or farm jacks so hoping that it was just a one off bad product that they will replace

i dont think it would have had even 350 kgs of weight on it and it was on flat ground

Went shopping at Filthy 4x4 and bought myself a couple of these. At nearly 1000 lumens each they should give me some good reversing light.



Now to try get them fitted during the week.

My mate had his Garmin eTrex in the glovebox. It makes a file which you can then load onto Google Earth - once its in Google Earth you can click on any part of the track to find speed, elevation, time of day etc. Pretty cool device really. There's probably a smartphone app which can do it too.

Cleaned the truck and checked it over after yesterdays trip. 20kg of mud and a broken gearbox mount.

Supersets etc all fitted and tried it out in a bit of mud at local club champs... Bloody awesome
The truetracs were impressive too - was never at a loss for traction

Went up to longwoods for a play with some nw mates, had a ball.

Quite pleased with the terrano and how it performed, used 1/4 of a tank for about an hours driving and 3-4 hours playing.

Didnt even come close to overheating, intercooler is working wonders.

Flares worked wonders , other trucks didnt have them, and im the one that got absolutly covered in mud lol.

Only downfall was when i broke the steering rod that goes form steering box to hub, had to be towed on a salvage trailer by a Toyota
