HD swb springs into lwb safari?

Post by big-b »

Hi all, i have a 2inch Heavy Duty lift kit for a swb gq safari and was wondering if i could put that into a lwb safari? Is it just the weight that is different between the 2 or are the springs longer in a lwb? also are the shocks the same? or could i run the springs with some coil spacers to compensate? any advice would be appreciated cheers

I understand the springs + shocks are the same length, just stronger to compensate for the extra weight of the LWB.

LWB is heavier and therefore generally has heavier duty springs in the rear.
The SWB springs may fit but will probably not give you a full 2-inch lift due to heavier weight of the LWB. May have to use the spacers to compensate.

You will always get a better ride and handling using the proper specified springs rather than mix and matching.
