Toyota Free wheeling hub - spring wanted
Re: Toyota Free wheeling hub - spring wanted
If this is the one you're after, I rolled one from a piece of 2.4mm tig rod....hasn't let go yet.

Is tig filler rod made from spring steel?

No it's not but mines been like that for over 2 years without issue.
It's only holding the the clutch and follower together and is threaded into both parts. I rolled mine slightly larger than required and it's works fine.
Total investment was 10mins of my time and maybe 20 cents worth of rod...IMHO it beats paying $40

I need to make 3 of these ( when I have done an exchange of hubs ) the exchanged hubs have streached springs . Can you remember what size pipe did you use to wrap the rod around and was it done hot or cold?

It was rolled cold in slip rollers at work so no pipe size to reference off.
I just rolled it down to slightly larger than the original. .
