Can I cut the rear muffler of my exhaust?

Can I cut the rear muffler (the small one) off the end of my exhaust of my 80 series? Is it illegal in any way? It just hangs low and i don't like the look of it

With a Turbo Diesel the good ol turbo cuts a lot of the sound out.... So you can typically run one muff or bullet resonator... Some just run straight pipes...Will be a little more throaty but nothing like a ricer...
