'Tuff Lux's LN106 4 link

Post by ln100matt »

Been doing a bit of work on my mates ln106 double cab hilux. Half way through a double triangulated four link so I thought I'd put some photos up.

Some mods we've done so far are:
- Stock 1uz
- R151 with gear driven transfer adapted
- Rears up front with crossover steering
- Longfeilds
- Rear lokka and lsd up front

Got a bit more done. Everything welded up. Just need to mount fuel tank then flex it up to get shock lengths then paint everything. Can anyone suggest a good paint to use?

Cheers, Matt

If you can paint from a gun i would recommend a good etch primer and 2pack enamel.

Got it pretty much finished now. Still a few bits and pieces to tidy up but got it up the bank for a flex up. Could of got a bit more out of it but the tray sits on the tyres so might need to mod it a bit.

Hey mate obviously the triangulated 4 link is fully custom so how do go about lengths and where mounts need to go? I'm doing some homework on how set one up on my surf.

I downloaded a 4 link calculator to help with dimensions which was a good starting point for me as I hadn't done one before. I researched antisquat, roll centre height and angle, etc and what some good figures for these should be and based the design around these. At the end of the day though, what works on paper might not work under the truck so I didn't get too carried away with making it to exactly what the calculator gave me. In the end the truck behaves quite well and pinion angle is good throughout the length of travel.
