Safari Long Travel Shocks

Post by FORGE1 »

Hi All,

I have been looking into the suspension set up on my truck and I need some longer shocks.

I have done a little research into using 80series shocks on the front but dont know what I need to change to achieve this as the info is pretty limited online (unless im looking in the wrong place)

The back on the other hand needs looooong shocks as the ones in there are currently topped out (Monroe 4x4 shocks) its currently a 100mm lift in the back.

How I want the truck to sit is:

Front 75mm lift
Rear 100mm

Once I put a draw system in and load it up it should sit level :)

Does anyone know where I could source some 2nd hand shocks that will be long enough or a good price on some new ones.

If anyone knows small tricks that could make it work using other trucks shocks Im all ear's

Thanks in advance

I run cruiser front shocks on mine. Had to extend the tower by 60mm so they wouldn't bottom out. did have to cut 65mm hole in inner guard for the shock bush to poke through as I have no body lift. the suspension binds on full stretch before the shocks top out.
I have std 80 front springs and shocks which gives about 40mm lift. So 2in lift cruiser shocks would fit. In the rear I have 60mm lift cobras and 2in lift length shocks. these are a bit short though as only have about 100mm down travel

Iv've got some EFS extreme shocks for the rear of a safari. I think they are for a 4" lift (will have to check)
They are almost new might have done 150kms. $300 for the pair They retail for $325 each.

Yeah keeping an eye on those he has finally put a pic up of the part number so I can do some research on them but he's never used them so I don't know if they are even usable.

For the price, I'd spend the extra of the EFS
