80 vs. 100 series suspension

Post by Harrison »

I go some 100 series shocks and springs for my 130 a few months back but was asking too much, had no chance of getting the springs in. Does anyone know if the shocks will fit? Just got new springs and fitted them all good for 70mm lift but damn shocks are too short now! Cant be flucked pulling shocks out to find they wont fit... i just read that thread about 80 series suspensuion fitting though so any ideas?

Cheers

Pulling the shocks out would be the best way rather than someone going um aahhh they might fit you can get a definite answer for yourself. Just make sure that if they fit that they don't bottom out on full compression as that will wreck them. And if they are heaps longer be careful your springs don't fall out on full droop. Or you could get these, I think they are longer than standard ones but it would pay to check first.http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=636030825

cheers zuk, no chance of springs falling out the way these suspension systems are configured, or not on a jack in the workshop anyway.

And for anyone in the future that wants to know the answer for the same question, you need to modify the bottom mount to make the 100 series shocks fit the 130 chassis coz the bush sizes are different-M8 vs. M10 diameters and bushes are fixed to 100 series shocks it seems.
