Hey all. Am after some advice/opinions. I brought a set of 4, 35" silversones off trade me, second hand. Sweet, reading through q and a on auction seller states new casing size so the full 35" tyre as opposed to smaller old casing size - littlies. Tyre arrive, casing dates 3111 and 3211. Ahh crap. Old sizes. Not what he advertised.
Not ideal. What to do basically? Send em back? (No doubt at my cost) Ask buyer to refund a portion of what i paid? Would you expect to pay the same for old sizes vs new. At the end of the day im setting up the susspension atm so was wanting a true 35" tyre to work with but if they are cheap enough I could live with it and mod it again later.
I havnt approached the seller yet, what do you think?

Would depend on the wording of the auction, did you ask for the casing dates at all? how much difference is there between the old and new?

Nope, I didnt ask myself in the auction but another person did. Thought it'd be odd to ask the same q again. Size of old tyres measure 860 high, 305 wide. New 893x310, so thats just under an 1 1/2" , 33mm diff in height.

I would talk to the seller, find out whether it was an honest mistake or whether he was talking a load of BS. Also how much did you pay and whats the condition of the tyres?

Yep will have a yarn to him shortly. He seemed genuine, but was clear with his answer on the q&a on the auction. Tyres were mostly as he described, he reckoned there was some damage to the outer side wall of one tyre, had a look, has exposed the ply/threads on the side wall. Tread depth is about correct.
