When it gets hot the fan should be stiff...with mine the engine note turns to a 'roar' when its hot, have you checked your thermostat?, what about your radiator? if you have been thru mud this may have blocked the outside of it especially if you have an aircon one in front of it, or it may need a flush?

had a similar problem recetly on my vitara (the first photo on the cover page) it turned out to be a thermostat and the fan clutch had gone, if i were you i would replace thermostat and take out radiator and soak in a bath for a week then give it a good hose and go and buy a 2nd hand viscous fan off a wrecker or trademe if you can find someone wrecking the kind of truck you have make sure you ask them that its in good working condition that way if it isnt you can get them in the shit

Mine is windy, could be the fan, check the thermostat, could also be the radiator as well
