Steering Ball joint question

Post by Mudde1 »

I need to order a replacement ball joint for my 2003 Grand Cherokee ltd. This is the one that attaches to the end of the pitman arm. I have had a look at Rockauto.com, but am a bit confused at which ball joint i need. There is a description on one ball joint that says “At Pitman Arm; 9.560" Length” and another one that says “ Front Left Inner; At Pitman Arm” . Am I correct in assuming that because Rockauto is an American site for left hand drive vehicles, I need to order the left one, even though I want one for the right side of the vehicle?? Will it matter that it is listed for a left hand drive vehicle??

The best way is to search by part number that is stamped on the ball joint you have. Every part on your Jeep is either stamped or has a manufacturer part number on it.
