Post by juz »

Ill crank this one up, mounted some guages in were the altimeter used to be. Wasen't enough room for Egt aswell so will have to put that elsewhere. Auto sparky going to do boost, egt, water temp, spotties, deck lights and reverse camera all at once. Be good to see whats going on with engine.

Did a bit more on the Playdoh bum chop. Painted the inside of the new rear panel. Looks black but its actually emerald green like the outside. Also fitted in the new Boost and water temp gauges from Auberin's. And assembled the winch after a quick service.
Winch has been modified. It was a warn XD9000i but I have chopped off the i bit (integrated solenoids) and got a new style pack from the Runva man (thanks Mike). Also had the drum re plated and new brake assy. So should be good for a few more years.

Looking good there calvin! About to modify the rear panel on my prado too. Boxed in the bottom half when I built it but never did the top half around the window out of thick enough steel. Flexs too much for my liking, tidy that up then flick it off I spose..

Did some work on the Lada, mainly just routed the intake really, no enthusiasm for it at the moment as the place I was told I could get the throttle cable made up can't do them anymore and I know of nowhere else.

So just worked on the HQ instead, Will get back into the Lada more next week as being Daylight saving now I got heaps more time to fluff around on it.

Went to the Night run at woodhill, awesome turnout 42 trucks I believe.

Woke up bright and early this morning to go back up to woodhill for patrol, had an awesome day with datsunsafari and a couple other guys.

Drove some cool tracks that I havnt had the chance to do in a while.

Took the dog out for her first 4wd trip to see how she would go, she loved it and managed to (sort of) hold herself in an upright position

Did a bit of traveling. Got a couple of cars.

Picked up a 1992 hilux surf v6 manual for $500. 12mnths rego and new wof. Running on 5cylinders after replacing the rocker cover gaskets so seems a easy fix but start with the basics plugs leads dizzy etc.

Also fitted the rear shocks I got from Lolyf. Cheers mate much nicer to drive now the shocks don't top out.

Do you have a build thread Calvin? Would be interested to have a read. Is it you that has the rear mounted pto winch?

Either way, looking good.

Arron.
