Who's got the biggest ........ shaft - rear axle

Post by Rotazuk »

I expect this will come down to a cruiser or patrol but what truck out there has the thinkest rear axle shaft ? Not floating axle .
This is probably limited to the size of the rear wheel bearing but also looking at the thickness of the axle just inboard of the bearing also . Would look at any solid rear axle shaft so even a light truck I guess .

Cheers

I've seen a dyna rear diff in an early patrol had fairly large axles,
factory wise not sure, gq patrol are revered as being pretty damn strong,
depending on your intentions aftermarket axles (billet) claim up to 50% strength increase in some cases over factory.
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions

Fj60 s/f long side would be very close to 1 3/4" to 2"

Y60 are around 1 1/2" to 1 3/4"

Should have both here some where if you want to measure
