Re: rear drive shaft on swb safari question
Is it normal to need to lengthen the drive shaft when going to a 3inch lift?

No I had 5 inch lift, +16 mm longer control arms, shortened top arms. No gearbox spacers. Caster plates. With bugger all drive line vibrations. Each vehicle seem to be different though.
GU patrol 35s ect.

Re: rear drive shaft on swb safari question
3" lift on a LWB here (+2" body)... no vibrations, no gearbox spacers, no driveshaft extn
Re: rear drive shaft on swb safari question
The lwb dont seem to be to bad but in my opinion its common to see issues on 3" and up if they get driven hard ,
Re: rear drive shaft on swb safari question
very odd how all swb are different, friday i replaced both rear uj's on my bush truck for $112 but there was nothing wrong with them, i still have a vibe even with 10mm g/box spacers at around 90kms from the rear, i cant think of anything else so it must be tyres.....
coxsy i am glad you asked this as i was a little concerned about the amount my tail shaft was extended on my truck i am building up.. i was thinking a spacer too.

Re: rear drive shaft on swb safari question
Yes 12mm spacers ,spline gap still a bit longer than on a standard truck but driveline noise gone now so happy now hunt down oil leaks on this engine, oh my motto if in dough hit the lockers and stand one the gas
