the difference lockers make

Post by 1000dollamitzy »

Hi Guys

I have been promising for a while to get the video of Peppe attempting a hill first without the lockers and then with the lockers in so that people who dont have them can see what a difference they make.

I have not been able to get the video off my smart (read dumb    ) phone. However i was talking to my jordy mate, Mr Ice, the other day and it turns out he had the same stuff on video, so here are the videos curtisy of Mr Ice.

So firstly the video without using the lockers :? :? :? :? :?

And now with the lockers in, bit of a difference............... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

By the way Peppe is now up for sale as i need the money to pay for the Lada, see here on trademe if anyone is interested

Cheers
Rick

Wow that is a huge difference.
Is that front and rear lockers or just front?

to be fair, on the second run( air lockers "in")Peppe missed the ruts that it stopped in on the first attempt. However, after that it got real rough, and you drove through like a champ. Thanks for taking time to post.

Yes that was both front and rear lockers engaged, so all 4 wheels are constantly turning at the same rate.

Yer the second line was a better one than the first time and if I had hit that line the first time I would have gone further, but once it got a little further it would not have made alot of difference. As you can see further up the right front wheel gets about 2 feet off the ground so there is some serious cross axle action going on and on open diffs i wouldnt have had a chance.

Another young guy distroyed his front diff trying to get up there about 10 minutes later...........
