looking at buying one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/business-farming-industry/industrial/manufacturing-metalwork/welders/auction-657463747.htm anybody have one and are they any good ? wanting to make some bar work for a truck would this be any good for doing that ? or am i better off just buying a MIG ?

Have you welded before? If not, buy a MIG. It's the easiest process for a beginner to learn.

Hey , yep have a cebora synergic mig at work i use and also oxy gas plant , can't remember if i've used a tig before tho.

Go with smurfs advice, you would know if you had used a tig. :shock:
Dont get a MIG under 170AMPs tho, 200AMP is better if you can afford. :D

If your only planning on doing bar work for the truck i would recommend a mig, running on Co2 there cheap to run, easy to use (tacking things in place in a akward spot is so much easier with a mig).

A decent brand second hand migs pop up on tradme for decent prices.
