1996 3.9 INJ V8 CUTS OUT

Hi guys,
My not so trusty Disco has a slight issue (well many but one at a time yes??) Every so often, it just dies and when you try and wind it over it wont start. Then a few minutes later its away. This is less than ideal as it prefers to do it when half way up a hill or at traffic lights. Ive replaced the fuel filter and put an injector cleaner through it. Replaced the air filter and sworn at it a lot. Also suggested to it I replace it with a Toyota, that's how desperate Im getting. My 8yr old son wants to go off road so I need nay help PLEASE!! Im also looking for a few parts if anyone can suggest anywhere cheap.

at a guess i would crank/cam angle sensor , a way to test if its that(if you know where it is) the next time it stops is cool the sensor with water and if it goes straight away replace the sensor.

Thanks for that... Seeing that Im handy with a soldering Iron I will attack this with great vigor!! Not too fussed how the dash ends up looking! Going to be a project truck anyways... Carpet has to come out...
Be warned I have no idea where to get this project sorted so this forum will become my new home page...

You can buy a replacement plug for the spider unit which will keep every thing working if it is that. I did the one on the 300Tdi after being stuck many times in car parks

LRS have them I think (Landrover Spares)
