Who is the guru race pump builder !!

I have a rather large turbo manifold ,external etc on my td42 with 11mm plunger pump and im wondering who is the best in nz for building race pumps with bigger plungers and higher lift cams etc , ?
Prefer someone that builds them for race engines and that has done a lot of them ,

Turbo Diesel and Automotive in Hamilton do some insane race pumps for TD42. Their demo/workshop run around LWB Safari needs to be driven to be believed

Its not hard to do it yourself. A bit daunting but all the info is out there. Once you have done it then take it in and get it calibrated

Speaking of "race" pumps,,, where the hell are all these race td42s?
I want see them before I build one.

Its not hard to do it yourself. A bit daunting but all the info is out there. Once you have done it then take it in and get it calibrated

I know this sounds rude, but. How is it not hard if you have to take it to a diesel tech to calibrate it?, That is not doing it yourself.

I agree its not all doing it by yourself but alot of the stuff that takes the time can be done by you. Its like building an engine and then taking it to the dyno. You still technically build the engine.

I build race engines etc but the time factor does'nt really happen when you run a buisness ,

Sorry I miss understood. I thought a dyno was a machine that converted hocus pocus into numbers, giving you the power,torque,revs blah blah numbers to see if your modifications changed anything......dynos don't tune....Tuners use dynos..

A test bench is to test fuel flow and set pump timing,,, If the man setting these does not know what he is doing, your engine will suffer greatly and you will be very angry..

Im sorry you were not able to understand. You take it to the dyno tuner. Not often does the guy tuning the car actually build the engine or machine it etc

On another note if you do rebuild your pump have a look here and you will see where I have ported the pump to help it flow.
It kinda doesn't make sense until you pull one apart and have a good look at the lift pump and how badly mis matched it is

Steady on, I have never built a pump ever (where did you get that from?)......I was going by the fact you said it was easy and I could do it myself.... It sounded good to me.

Any way, I am always the poor bitch that gets grief from the high and mighty td42 lunches who think it is funny. Just because of who I hang out with........so I am sticking up for the poor td42, Personally I hate the things. And I am Just trying to save a few engine from pub legends and google builds.

So getting back to the important bit. I'm am sure wax you have done a fine job of building your truck but many don't think it is easy to build a 14mm ve pump for a td42, for flat out race use without having failures. That is a kick in the guts for some guys that have spent alot of hours at a bench for someone to buy it and pull it to bits to make their own.....

Thanks but as you know nothing about me you dont know if I am a google builder or not. The fact is its not hard and the only people who get really upset about the black art are the people who have been stiffing people for ages trying to make out its a black art.
